I.AST REFRAIN SCORES. OAMARU, May 2. The Oamaru Jockey Club’s meeting concluded to-day in fine weather. Th 1 track was slightly holding. The totalisator handled £14,049, compared with £9754 10s on the same, day last year. The total for the meeting was £22,964 10s. compared with £17,291 10s last year. 11. ,W. Hibberd, rider of Arrowglen in the Waitaki Hack, was suspended for one month after he had been found o'uilty of careless riding. The penalty was ‘imposed after the inquiry, into interference with Natty, which was ridden by A. E. Ellis.

C. Gieseler, starter to the Club, was severely cautioned by the stewards of the club for not complying with Rule 280 of the ot Baeing following on an inquiry into an incident on Thursday when the club’s autumn meeting opened. Gieseler was called before the stcwa-ds and asked to explain* why he allowed Fiord -to stmt from the" rails position in the President’s Handicap, the principal race, when the horse had drawn No. 5 position at the barrier.
