LONDON. Ort. 21. The annual report of Lloyd’s Regis--1 ter of Shipping emphasises the large 1 proportion of tanker tonnage built, and the continued demand for motor ships. During the twelve months ended un June 30 th, 1930, plans for 001 vesseli totaling over two million tons, were ■approved, the highest since the. record year of 11'20. Britain, followed by Japan, was in the lead in new construction. The total tonnage of merchant men afloat, at the end of June. 1930, amounted to 32,500,000 tons, an increase of nearly 1,000.000 tons compaii ed with the previous highest total, in June. 1929.
