A dispute between a farmer named Thomas Ross, aged 40 years, of Meeniyan (Gippsland), and his farm hand, Charles Wells, aged 39 years, ended, wit li their deaths by gunshot. Mrs Ross informed the policeMlhat Wells entered the kitchen with Ross sprang at him, and she ruhed out with her child. Subsequently Ross was found dead in one of the rooms, and Wells was found in another room with the top of his head blown off and a gun beside his body.
