HERD TESTING

WEST COAST ASSOCIATION. The. fir>t annual general meeting of the West Coast Herd Testing Association was held yesterday afternoon. Mr J. Mulcare presided, and the following delegates were present: —Messrs W. Begg, A. Bradley, Blunt, W. Fisher, Searle, E. Kirby, J. J. McKay, and the Secretary, Mr F. W. Baillie. Apologies were received from Messrs W. D. Inwood, A. W. Bell, H. G. Carter, T. P. O’Neill and M. Wallace. It was decided that the financial year of the organisation end on June 30th, and that *the annual meetings be held in July. It was decided that three delegates from each group form the management committee.

It was resolved that the emended constitution of the Association as read, be adopted.

Mr Jas. Mulcare was elected President of the Association for the ensuing year. Mr 11. G. Carter was elected Vice President. Mr A. McDonnell was appointed auditor, and the management committee comprises fifteen guarantors. Mr F. W. Baillie was elected as Secretary. The Secretary, President and VicePresident were empowered to sign cheques. The south group was named the South Westland Group. The Northern and Middle Groups were divided into sub-Groups. The action of Mr Hume in ordering tubs, etc., for the Harihari district was approved. On the motion of Messrs Mulcare and Bradley, it was decided that a letter of appreciation be sent to the Dominion Herd-Testing Association, and the Herd Testing Federation, Wellington and Hamilton, respectively in reference to the splendid work prepared by Mr Hume, the organiser. A hearty vo,te of thanks was accorded to Messrs Mulcare, Carter and McKay for their energetic work in promoting the Association.
