REEFTON NOTES.
(From Our Corre>pondent.) REEFTON, February 8. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday in the case T. H. Broderick v John Holman for £22 12s 7d, and costs £4 Is fid. At the sitting of the Warden’s Court,, before M r W. Meldrum, Warden, the following applications were dealt with: —Redqfale Collieries. Ltd (in liquidation) for (1) tramway lie eaee, (2) wayleave, and 3 special site, all situate in Blk X, Reefton S.D.— Objected t 0 by the executors of the estate of Geo. Lishman, deceased (Mr Patterson) —Adjourned to 22/2/29. Blackwater Mines, Lad. for reduction of rent on three special quartz claims •o Is per acre for twelve months from 1/1/29 —Recommended. New Keep It Dark Mines, Ltd (in liquidation), for reduction of rent on six special quartz claims to 2s 6d per acre for twelv< mouths from 1/1/29—Recommended. George James Willis, to surrender extended quartz claim No. 2944—Accepted. Daniel McLaughlin, for a coal prospecting license over 20 acres in Blk XV, Reef ton S.D.—Adjourned for report. Miss A. Lee returned from Auckland last evening. Mr Jax. Williams, Diocesan Secretary, Nelson, accompanied by Mrs Williams, motored from Nelson yesterday and left this morning for Hokitika and the Franz Josef Glacier. Mr and Mrs Fred Daniels, who have been on an extended tour of Great Britain and the Continent, passed through Reefton en route to Christchurch. Mrs Daniels (nee Cochrane) was formerly a Sister at the Reef ton Hospital.
The Rev Fr J. Herring, S.M., returned to Reef ton by last evening’s express. Th© marriage was celebrated recently at the Church of the Assumption, Onehunga. Auckland, of Miss Louise Brennan, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Matthew Brennan, of Onehunga, and Air Dennie Heslop. fifth son of he late Mr John Heslop and Mrs Heslop, formerly of Reefton. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by th? Rev Monsignor Cahill. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr J. Brennan, and wore a bridal dress of ivory satin and georgette, embroidered with pale pink and silver, and she wore the usual wreath and veil, and carried a bouquet of pink and white flowers. After the ceremony th© bridal party assembled at the Orpheum Hall, where a wedding breakfast was served. Mrs H. L. Hotehin, sister of the bride. was hostess.
