WELLINGTON, December 12. The Dominion Meteorologist’s forecast is as follows: The cyclone is still centred near Chatham Island, but is moving away eastward. Pressure is rising over New Zealand, but falling over eastern Australia. Strong southwest to southerly winds will prevail, decreasing gradually. Seas still rather rough to rough in New Zealand waters generally, but gradually moderating. Strong but decreasing south-westerly winds and rough but decreasing seas in the eastern Tasman. Weather still unsetlted and changeable, with passing showers in most districts, but improving rapidly. Cool temperatures.
