FARMERS’ UNION.

NGAHERE BRANCH. At the usual meeting of the Ngahere -branch of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union, Mr W. Fisher (President) was in the chair and there was a good attendance of members. In response to a request from the A. and P. Association, it was decided to nominate a candidate to I represent the district at forthcoming Baby Show, and also to co-operate in every way to ensure success. Mr Dalziel moved and Mr Cowan seconded that members hand in the names of their womenfolk who are prepared to join the Women’s Division of the Union, to the Secretary, before December 7th. Complimentary reference was made to Mrs A. V. Olliver’s work in this matter. The Braneii decided, after discussion to support all of the Inangahua Branch remits, with the exception of No. 6. which was held over for further information. No. 1 Rotomanu remit was supported, and No. 2 was referred to the Provincial Executive for consideration. The. headquarters remit No. 1 was approved, ami Nos 3, 4 and 5 were amended to read “that the Government be asked to appoint three local turners to act with the local Government Valuer when valuing for taxa- ; tion purposes.” No. 6 was not sup- • ported, and no action was taken in ; regard to No. 2.
