ADDINGTON MARKET. Beef Easier. (Special t 0 Argus.) CHRTSTCHUHCH, December 12. The Addington sale to-day was better for mutton than beef. Mer-srs Matsons review the sale as follows: Fat sheep.—There was a smaller yarding than at the previous market. The prices were a shade better at the beginning of the sale, but most were sold at last week’s parity. Extra heavy wethers sold up to 37/1, prime heavy 34/- to 36/-, medium 31/- to 33/-, light from 27/6. Extra heavy ewes fetched 33/10, prime heavy 27/to 29/-, medium 23/6 to 26/-, light from 18/-. Store sheep.—There was a small entry, chiefly of dry sheep. It was a sound sale. Ewes a:id lambs sold from 16/- to 21/6, 6 tot>th drv owes 32/6, others 18/6 to 29/-; 2 tooth wethers 23/- to 25/6. Lambs.—The entry was 925. There was keen competition, the exporters buying freely. Extra prime sold to 36/6. prime 31/6 to 33/6, medium 28, 5 to 30/4, light 25/6 to 28/-. Fat cattle—There was a large yarding, and the quality was good. Southland and the West Coast were represented. Primes were easier by 30/- tn 40/- per head. Steers sold: Heavy AT7 to £2l 7/6, prime £l6 to £lB 7/6, handy £l5 15/- to £l7 15/-; medium £l3 5/to £l4 10/-; light £lO to £l2 10/Cows fold: Heavy £l3 5/- to £l5 17/6; prime £9 10/- to £l2 15/-; medium £8 i 5/- to £9 5/-; light £6 5/- to £7 5/-. i Heifers sold: Heavy £l4 5/- to £l5 | 15/-; prime £l2 10/- to £l3 .15/-; medium £9 10/- to £ll 10/-; others £7 10/to £8 15/-. Fat pigs.—There was a large yarding both of pork and bacon. The market was easier. Croppers sold at 25/‘o £4, light pork 27/- to 31/-, medium 33/- to 40/-, heavy 42/- to 50/-, extra to 56/-.
