The Prime Minister Sir Jo.> pit Ward, was entertained tonight by U*c United Party at a dinner at the Royal Oak Hotel. The Minister of Railways, Hon. W. B. Taverner, presided. Ou *Su Joseph Ward’s right, sat Mr A. E. Davy, organiser fur the United Party, whu was thc recipient of a locket from the Auckland members. The Minister of Health, Hon. A. J. IStallwurthy, in making the presenta tian, also handed Mr Davy a well filled wallet uu behalf of tlx United members generally. Sir Jopepli Ward sajid thc future path of the. Party would not be an eaay one, but he had no fears as to the ultimate result. Ni w Zealand was a great country, and he would not exchange it even fur the Mother Country . The Minister uf Lands, Hun. G. W. Forbes, made it clear that he intended to pros'eute a vigoruais policy of ’V' land, settlement. ' The Minister of Defence, Hon. T. A.
