BUENOS AYRES December 10. “La Critica” publishes the Paraguayan version of the border clash, saying: The Bolivians constructed a fort on unquestionably Paraguay i n territory. Tin* Bolivians were invited to abandon the post, but opened fire on the Paraguayans, who replied, dispersing the Bolivians. MOVE BY PAN PACIFIC CONFER ENCE. WASHINGTON, December 10. The Pan-American Conference on Conciliation and Arbitration. opening on Monday, adopted a resolution pledging co-operation in any move toward an amicable solution of the Para guayan-Bolivian dispute. Both coun tries were represented. BOLIVIA APPROACHES LEAGUE. (Received December 11, at 8 p.m.) LAPAZ (Bolivia), December 10. Th i Government having been assured of the absolute support of the nation in whatever course it is determined to follow with Paraguay, submitted the facts of the situation before the League of Nation*. LEAGUE COUNCIL URGES PACIFIC SETTLEMENT. (Received December 11 at 11 p.m.) LONDON, December 11. The “Daily Telegraph’s” diplomatic correspondent states that the dispute between Bolivia and Paraguay is unlikely to come before the League. Though both are nominally member?. Bolivia has not paid a subscription since and has not been represented at recent assemblies. Paraguay’s arrears are small, and she has been represented by a useful delegate, but the League is not anxious to act in any way which the United States might regard as an infringement of the Monroe Doctrine.

A telegram from Lugano states that it is expected that the Council will address the Bolivian and Paraguayan Governments to labour for moderation and pacific settlement.
