(From Our Own Correspondent.) During the recent spell of warm dry weather shearing operations were hi Pull swing in the district. Judging •y the number of sheep and lambs the wool crop should be very successful The marriage of Miss Lil Fensom, rider daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Fensom, of Seddon Street, to Mr Reg J. Little (Sydney), formerly of Kumara, takes place on Wednesday at Greyra outh. Mrs Neville left on Thursday for Christchurch to spend a short holiday with her daughter, Nirs J. Smith. Mrs A. Aldridge, of the Beach Road, was admitted to the Greymouth Hospital on Saturday. Mr A. J. Thorn has suffered a painful injury, his fingers being crushed between two large stones while nt wk at the Maori Point sluicing claim. The water was turned on to the electric generating statidn at Dillmanstown on Friday evening, and the initial result was considered very satisfactory. The Headmaster also reported at some length regarding the school books purchase 1 since the fire, stating he had kept a detailed account of books authorised to be purchased by each child. Nir Reedy said that the entertainment held Pome time ago had resulted in sufficient funds being secured to meet the cost of the authorised books. He moved that the amount (£l3 1/6) be passed for payment: geographies and hstories, etc., to become class books at the school. The Secretary reported that the Roll of Honour had been des troyed by the fire, and asked the committee to consider its replacement as oon as possible. Mr McLean moved that the Secretary endeavour to secure ({notations for a new Roll of Honour, as soon as possible, and that the payment bo met if possible with the balance of the proceeds of the entertainment. Accounts amounting to £lfi 1/6 were passed for payment.
