ADMIRALTY AND SINGAPORE. LONDON. December 6. The Admiralty officially denies any change of policy in relation to the Singapore naval base. It states that rumours are probably based on the scheme of retardation announced in the 1927 Estimates. COUNT VAEDINI S WIDOW. HOME, December 5. The Government voted the widow of Count Vardiai a special grant of £lOO vearly, in addition to the allowance to which she is ordinarily entitled. TORY SNUB FOR LEAGUE. LONDON, December 5. Sir A. Chamberlain, in answer to a question in the Commons, said the Government at present did not intend to adopt the general act for pacific settlement of disputes, received from the League of Nations.
