FRENCH ROYALISTS.
LEADER SURRENDERS. AFTER THE SIEGE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received June 14 at 8 p.m.) PARIS, June 13. Tl’.e surrender to the police of M Leon Daudet (Royalist Leader) was most dramatic. A procession ot motor cars drove through the police cordon. M. Cheappe, the new Prefect of Police stepped up and shouted— I want to sneak to Daudet.” Thereupon the Royalist Leader appeared on the balcony, being haggard Lid intensely fatigued. Prefect Cheappe said—“Daudet, I am speaking to you as man to man. You must surrender, as the blood which you may spill will not bring back to life youi a few moments belli faced each other. Hundreds of onlookers burst I,lt T °hen a M. Daudet replied—‘‘Monsmur Prefect, you have used human language. I know that the forces behind me do not wish to cause bloodshed, or to cau. civil war. I surrender!-”
