SIMONDS SUCCESSFUL SAWS.
“The representative for Simonds Saws, Mr Costello, who attended the Axemen's Carnival at Dunedin in the interests of his firm, advised us that he is endeavouring to have the New ■Zealand stvle of sawing match adoptee ion the Pacific Coast of America and in Ciinada. At present the sawing match in' : vogue in these, countries consists oi falling a tree, or bucking a log, i’ l ' o lengths and naturally the time taken for the contest runs into minutes instead of seconds as in New Zealand. Mr Costello will be shortly leaving for Sydnev to attend the sawing matches at the Royal Easter Show and expects that the Simonds Saw «ill be as successful there as it was at Dunedin where it was used by the winueis in every event.”
