WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS. HOKITIKA WIN LINKS. (Special to “ Argus, ’j WESTPORT, February 10. A big crowd of spectators witnessed the final rinks match played this afternoon, between, the following rinks; — Buck. Moss, Wise am! Blair (skip.) of Greymoiith, and Blunk, King. Thompson and Benjamin (skip), of Hokitika. The latter team won by 26 to 20. Play commenced at two o’clock ami ended at five. The nineteenth round of the mutch became very exciting. The score was Benjamin 17, Blair 16. The umpire was called upon to decide whether the jack was burned or not. He declared the jack alive, whereupon Benjamin made a beautiful drive. The last head favoured Benjamin. It was a popular win, and was received •with greut applause. I’iesidcnt Tulloch called on Mrs Tulloch, who presented Hokitika with the cup. I Three of th' 1 men in the present team I were among the winners of the rinks ’ eup at last tournament. The visitors | leave in the morninp on their return I home.
