CORSICAN VENDETTA.
AFFAIR OF A CENTURY. BREAKS OUT ANEW. ROME, October 12. A furious vendr: tn has raged intermittently over a cc; hiry between the Corsican families Paolilli and Sarti, living in the village of Ollivese, near Ajaccio. Seventy men, 2'> women and several children have been killed during the last 50 years, before a peaceful settlement was brought about by the engagement of a 16-year-old Paolitti girl to a 20-ypear-old Satti. Subsequently, his family discovered that the girl had flirted with other boys in the village. A heated discussion resulted in an old Sarti stabbing a Paolitti to death. Finally three more were killed and four severely wounded. Tho vendetta is now in full swing again, extending to the whole of Ollivese, which is split into two factions.
