SAILED.
DECEMBER 5. Nil, m port. Kowhai, Kainiea, Kaiapoi. Wallsend s.s. left Onehunga for Greymouth direct yesterday afternoon, and loads timber for Australia. Waimea s.s. arrived last night from Wellington, Nelson, and Westport. After discharge of general cargo, she loads coal for Wanganui and sails today. Alexander s.s. will probably leave Wellington to-day for Greymouth via way ports. Kowhai s.s. arrived from Gisborne last evening. She loads coal for New Plymouth and Onehunga. Kaiapoi s.s. sails for Melbourne tonight, timber laden. Kini s.s. is due from Wellington this afternoon. The Union Coy. advise that until further notice the Pateena will be placed in the ferry service, leaving Lyttelton after the arrival of the 6.55 p.m. train from Christchurch on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The Mararoa will ruii as usual.
