BERT LA BLANC'S REVUE CO

The musical comedy "Revue" Company that will be presented by Mr. Ben Fuller at th c Princess Theatre (Reefton), on Tuesday, December 26 (Boxing Night), was formed by Mr. Bert Le Blanc some years ago. When Mr. Bert Le Blance came to Australia, three years ago, as principal comedian in The Grafters' Company, he brought with him the books of many of the successful productions in which he had starred in the United States. It was his intention to produce these pieces with his own company immediately after the conclusion of The Grafters' tour, but Mr. Ben Fuller made him a tempting offer to enter into vaudeville, with the result that the formation of his own company was postponed for a. time. A little later, realising that musical comedy "revue" would' make an excellent combination with vaudeville. Mr. Le Blanc entered into- a contract with Mr Ben Fuller to produce the pieces in a condensed form on his circuit for a time. Mr. Le Blanc was fortunate in securing the services of Miss Miles to play leads. This popular artiste had already booked her passage on the Ventura for America .where she was engaged to star on the Orpheum circuit. Tempted by a substantial v salary, and realising- that her ntw en-g-agement would enable her to appear in parts for which she was admirably suited, Miss Miles arranged to postpone her American tour, and has been with the "Revue" Company ever since. Other engagements followed in quick succession, the Fuller Circuit offering admirable talent f-r the new venture, with the result that Mr. Le Blanc secured an exceptionally strong combination of arris -3. Mr. Carlton Chase, the young Amen'rsn actor, is seen in the same class of work in which he was so successful in America. Mr. Jake Mack (who came to Australia with the Matthaws- an-.i Mack travesty act) supports Mr. Le Blanc in comedy scenes. The New York Four specialise in popular melodies; while the Pony Ballet (late of Geo Willoughby's Panto Company) supply the. ballets. Marcel and Fallon, a ragtime and dancing duo are featured in the production. A full chorus and remarkably attractive scenic studies from the original New York and novel electric schemes for stage lighting were introduced. » Wardrobe of the most costly order was made for the different productions, and the company launched on its venture some, two years ago and surcess has followed it ever since. Mr. Le Blanc clnims that he can give seven cdmnlete musical "revues-' in as many nights. The music of the "revues') is well interspersed and kept up to date with the latest London and American successes.
