IRISH PRISONERS. REQUEST* FOR THEIR RELEASE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, December 21. In the House of Commons Mr. ]. f Dillon moved the adjournment. He urged the release of the Irish s prisoners before Christmas, and thus * create a better atmosphere in Ireland. s The Hon. H. E. Duke (Chief Sec- ■ retary for Ireland) said that the rei bellion had been prepared all over Ire--5 land. His policy had been that il 1 the name of the person released 3 ! would hot detract from the peace of 1 j the country, he would be allowed to 2 j go. Lately there had been an imp rovement and appeasement. . He could not authorise the wholesale release. The Premier had authorised him to say that he would approach . the subject with a desire to release "he prisoners. The Government hoped to reach an immediate decision if the House of Commons adopted the additional million^ men for the army. [ l Mr. J. L.
