DIFFICULT* WITH THE MOORINGS- , NELSON, April 12. . The dredge Mawliera, which was engaged- by the Nelson Board for dredging outside and inside the harbour, has not removed the ■ quantity. ■of stuff anticipated and so far out of 35,000 tons to be shifted only 11,550 tons have been shifted. The dredge had had a great difficulty with mooring and in three weeks had only 35 hours working. She did fine work outside the entrance, her difficulties toeing in the harbour. Yesterday was her best day inside the harbour, 2000 tons j being- shifted. ' • . • ' ! The difficulty with the moorings J is now believed to be overcome and a continuation of good work is looked for. The Mawhera was engaged for a month, Tmt three- weeks have gone and only a third of the work dome. Negotiations are proceeding with the Greymoutli Board as to making up lost time.
