TROTTING NOTES
YESTERDAY'S TRACK WORK. ». (By Rail Bird.) Victoria Park is a very busy place at present. Horses are to be seen at daylight and also at dusk getting ready for the meeting which commences on Saturday. . A great many horses arrived from Christchurch last night, among them being 1 Sand Drift, Louie Drift. Galvanita. Beach Boy, Lady Poole, Gran ger, Ellawood and Rotorua,. All arrived in splendid order. Some of the local horses did some good work yesterday. Lady Marion did a very good mile. . Lucy Wallace did some good work without straps. Timepiece, in hobbles, is very much improved and is doing some very solid work. Ned Corbett left a mile behind him in 2.35. ' Roosevedt cut out a mile in 2.29. t Ethel Ball did the same distance in 2;38. . Galdseeker, trotting fair, left two miles behind him in 5.28. Dreamland, a very neat trotter is doing some very good work and the judge is sure to catch him before the meeting is over. Sunpod, made his first appearance on the track and judging by the way he went he is a very likely horse. Telltale is very mm.li improved since the October meeting. , 'Manola had the misfortune to get a small stake in her foot and could not be worked for a few days. Signoretta had bad luck in Westport, but I think she will be aming the winners here. The Mawhera is a very hard race to pick, but I think if Beach Boy is anything near well he will waJk home, and in the cup he is the hardest horse to beat.
