MOANA AXEMEN'S CARNIVAL
A SUCCESSFUL MEETING. I The above-named gathering took I place at Moana last Monday, and was exceedingly well attended. The weather conditions were perfect, and Lake : Brunner during the forenoon was.Jn its most })acifie mood, presenting a most inviting appearance to the several picnic parties who ventured forth. In addition to the principal events quoted below there were several items of minor interest got off. A good many cash prizes of lesser value were raced for by the children, and lollie scrambles for the smaller kiddies. The sheep guessing competition also attracted considerable attention snd was won by Mr. G. Taylor (03 lbs.) the nearest guess. The principal results were as follows:— HANDICAP SAW (15 inch log, 2 cuts). — Snow and mate 1, Clancy and mate 2, Jack Curtain and Eobinson 3. MAIDEN HANDICAP CHOP (underhand 15 inch log). — M. Lohrey 1, M. Clancy 2, J. Kennar 3. MOANA HANDICAP CHOP (15 inch log underhand). — First heat: Jack Curtain (15 sec.) 1, A. O'Rourke (5 see.) 2, J. Hahn (scr.) 3; second heat: F. Murray (15 see.) 1, Jack Curtain (15 sec.) 2, Jack Eowse (35 sec.) 3; final: Murray (15 sec.) 1, Jack Curtain (15 sec.) 2, J. Hahn (scr.) 3. BOYS' RACE (16 years and under). — C. Kennedy 1, B.
