YESTERDAY'S OPERATIONS. {Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Oct 6. The Wingatui tracks grow busier each succeeding morning. Operations commenced about 6 a.m. when Warstep supplied the first gallop of note by pulling- over Marsa throughout a six furlongs task, which occupied 1.18. . ' H. Cutts sent Battle Eve and Holiday for a canter on the .grass down the middle of the course proper. Spang-le and Snub were both travelling well within themselves when reeling- half a mile over the same ground in 535. Palisade strode over a circuit of the plough at good three-quarter pace and seems quite in his best form. Rencontre, ' who put up a good gallop at Riccarton on Saturday, got through some strong pacing. Quarantine was allotted a similar task. Volspiel picked up Sir Bridgit after the latter had travelled .a furlong on the plough, and the pair came on to niake six furlongs in 1.21 3-8, the last five being covered in 1.8 from St. Aidan at the end of a mile in 1.48 on the plough. Moonglow and John Barleycorn ran over six furlongs in 1.19. Marvelight cast half a mile behind in 545. Speedometer was travelling well :n the early part of five furlongs, which he got over in 1.4 3-8. Others doing useful work before breakfast include First Flight, Don Francisco, Downsteepy, Nones, Golden King, Peerless, Red Charm, Puravva, Carolus and Waitara. After breakfast Internal and Leading Lady commenced business by go ing over six furlongs in i.iq 2-5. The two-year-olds Bonny Dream and Wisher cantered on the grass. Chudic played up a bit when sent out to work, but afterwards shaped satisfactorily. Bon and Kazan, with the latter show ing the way, ran five furlongs in 1.10. Rongahere and Pride of Clutha strode at half-pace over a couple of circuits. Lion and Varanian ran half a mile on the plough in 555, with the honours resting with the former. Margareta travelled half a mile >n 54 2.15- ' ..- Ogier, with a slow start, easily accounted for Taft when going half a mile in S- 4-5-Russo and Flora got away faster than Ogier did when beating the latter's time by two-fiifths of a secondSauci (looking big and healthy) and Moulu did easy pacing. Martius, a shade on the big side, and Findhorn were also restricted to. a canter. The last-named appears to have come.on well since last- autumn. Gnome, Aye Aye, Lord Frederick, Carpet Knight, Top Note, Micky Free United Service, Red Pennon, Cardiff, Kia Ora, Outram, Officious, Kirn, Envore, a Downshire-cyre gelding, and one or two. others also got through some useful tasks^
