Arrangements have now been t.om pleted for the filling of the vacancies which will be caused in the New Zealand general staff shortly by the return, to England of -Colonel L. 5. Heard,. Chief of- the ■ General Staff, and director, of staff duties^ and miii tary training and Lieutant-CoJonel I\. A. Collins," D.5.0., Adjutant General to the force*. In reply to a question put I>y a Post reporter to-day, General Gyfley, commandant of the forces, staged t: at Colonel Heard would be succeeded by Lieut. Col. W.. G. Braithwaite, as Chief of ,the General Staff, and I iet. •Col. Collins by Col. E. W. C. Chaytor as Adydtant-General. No announcement has yet been made as to Colonel Braithwaite's and Colonel Chaytor's successors, thougfi it is reported that the ■ latter ■ appoint-ment.--will be conferred upon MajorJohnston, who is at present in Wei lington on furlough from India.
