RECONCILING THE NATIONALISTS.

LLOYD GEORGE'S TASK. (Per Independent- Cable Service). LONDON, May 18. Mr. Lloyd George had an hour's audience with the King yesterday. The Chanc3 pl lor's visit to Buckingham Palace was infevitably associated in the minds of poiliticians by the knowledge that he has hitherto been the principal .channel of communication betwen the Cabinet and the Nationalists. Both wigs of the coalition are aware •that the minimum required in the amending Home Rude ' Bill coverts the excdusiion of Ulster, without the time limit, and the extension of the definition of "exclusion area;" The Nationalists, however, will not .lightly accept either proposal, but Mr. Lloyd. George is expected to devote his .diplomatic abilities to reconciling their wishes with the necessity of the situation.
