Eldon Coates has agreed to become a candidate for the seat on the Grey Education Board rendered vacant by the retirement of Mr Jas. Kerr. At St. John's Chuch, Willis street, Wellington, on Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. Dr. Gibb officiating, Miss •Charlotte A. Anderson, of Greymouth, was married to Mr James C. Larking, also of Greymouth. The bride was« given away by her brother, Mr IT. A. Anderson, of Wellington. A peasant function was held at the residence of Mrs Evans, Shakespeare street, yesterday afternoon, when some fifty ladies aseinblsed to. bid good-bye to Mrs Jas. Kerr, who is leaving Greymouth for Petone. Advantage was taken of the occasion to", present Mrs Kerr with a travelling rug and handsome gold brooch, also two gold, brooches were presented to the little Misses Kerr. The presentation, was made by Mrs Hallow, on behalf of those assembled, who, in a neat speech eulogised the many gool qualifies oi the guest during her residence in Greymouth. In a few well chosen remarks Mrs Kerr feelingly expressed her gratitude to her many friends for their handsome presentation, and also for their well wishes for her. future prosperity. '.;•'..
