THE SOUTH CANTERBURY PIPE BAND
M. Tom Pollard always on the lookout for attractions for his patrons, having heard that, the famous Souith Canterbury Pipe Band would arrive Tiere this morning, after their, sensational Carnival season in Westport, 'im mediately secured their services, and they will give one of their delightful concents at the Opera House to-night. They can only appear for one night, as -they return home overland to-mor-row morning, v The Band is recognised as the foremost exponents of Scptitsh music as heard on tthe National instrument in the colonies. The members of the Band are not only clever instrumentalists, but they arc also capable singers and dancers. The programme to be presented to-night will include Pipe. Selections, Songs, Dances, Trios, Duets, Solos, Reels, Jigs, and S-traths'eys, whilst a number of Scotch humourous songs will be rendered by a member who has been described as the New Zealand Harry Lauder. The attraction is a most unique one, and as popular prices are being- charged, a crowded house should be the result.
