The award of the Arbitration Court in the Merchant Service Guild dispute has ;been fried "\vilh the Clerk of Awards (Mr Eustace Stocktr).

Tha Court decided- that the mini mum rate of wages, to t'e paid to ■certiiificated officers on steamers coming within the scope of the award shall be ,£ls per 'calciiidar .month for firslil officeirs and ,£l2 for second officers. The award is to apply only to steamers tre gross tondiage of which is not loss than 100 ions and not more. 'than : 600 tons.
The Guild asked for .£lB for chief officers, £14 for second officers and £12third officers . of ships of 1000 tons -gross, register tonnage- and under but ilvi- employers offered on. steamers' from 241. to 600 tons .£l4 to .£ls for first- officer , on passcinger 'boats, and to on cargo boats ; for second officers £10 ito£l2 on passenger steamers and to .£ll •on cargo boats. ■-■-.. 1 . .
