MELBOURNE.. Nov. 24

In the Hous£ of Representatives today speaking on the estimates,, Mr Cook severely attacked the cable subsidy, and 'said that only three papers participated in the service.

Mr Batchelor denied the statement and said that since the subsidy was granted, other papers had joined in till now there were seven participating in tn« service.

Mr Williams fell foul of the Speaker by saying that the , Government had prostituted itself by a system of tammany in Ihe interests of the Labour press. '
