JOHANNESBURG, Nov 22.
Hon Andrew Fisher (Prime Minister of Australia), and Hon. George Fowlds .(New Zealand Mrlnister of Educa-. •tion), spent the day at the East Rand. .They were welcomed by. the Labourites. ■■.-.'
An address was presented by the Labour party to Mr Fisher in which it said that his presence liad given them renewed hope and energy in. their endeavour to emulate 'the example of their oversea brothers.
Air Fisher, in replying, sa^d that they need not be alarmed at their present small succes politically. He appealed to' them for sacrifice to carry the movement forward. He .had never advocated thai workers should share the profits of industry, but advocated old age pensions and taking over of monopolies and -the State 'running them in the interest of the people as a whole.
