Nurse Noall, who has recently completed her training at the Christchurch Hospital, has been appointed to the Hokitika Hospital.
Mr H. F. Toog-ood, engineer to the riokr.tika Harbour -Board, and Miss Bugler, of the Wellington district, were married yesterday afternoon at Wellington.
The Hon. Jame s Marshall has so much improved m health that he. was able to resume his seat at the County Cmncil meeting 1 yesterday. He was warmly welcomed by his brother councillors.
On Tuesday evening the staff of Messrs W. McKay and Sons' Hokitika warehouse made a presentation to Mr Fred Sellers, who leaves for Greymouth to-day, of a set of brushes and smoker s compamion. Mr Burger, the manager, in making the presentation referred to the good feeling that had always existed and expressed the best of good wishes for the future. Mr SelleVs made a suitable acknowledgment.
Mr H. B. Burnett, secretary of 'the Grey Harbour Board, has been appointed secretary to the Auckland Harbour Board out of 47 applicatii'ons received from all over the Dominion.We desire to offer our congratulations on his splendid promotion, and feel sure he will gvive as much satisfaction to the Auckland Board as he has done to the v local board. Mr Burnett, besides being a clever accountant, was most enthusiastic in Harbour Board affairs, and he knew everj'- department of the port. The Greymouth Board will lose the services of a most capable and courteous officer. We_ wish Mr Burnett continued success. He will take up his new duties on January Ist.
