.Fpne weaithar favoured the first day of the South 'Caittverbury Jockey Club's November Meeting. •'.' ' The attendance was good. , £2,639 went through the totalisator or £50 less than last year. Bookmaker's fees realised £246. The course was rather hard and the" (fields on the small side, but good, ■racing was seen. ■ A bad accident marred the day's pleasure. In the^taio Hurdles, four out of dive horses in 'the field falling" in' a (heap at the 'first -hurdle. All the (riders were more or less cut and bruised. l V. Cotton had his collar bone broken. A bye-stander mounted one. of the horses, and was awarded second place. Following are the resulfts: — Sumer Handicap, of . 75 soys, six furlongs. — Aunt Sally 1, Flambeau 2, Achray 3. Five started. Won comfortabiy. Time — 1.15 J. ' Shons, 80 soys, half a mile.-—Lup-ulite 1, Pilgrim's 'Way 2, Lady U.izoin 3. Nine others starved. Won^all the way. Time — 48£. • Otaio Hurdles, 100 soys, one and a half miles — Southern Cross 1, Farley Grove 2. Only 'two (finished. No time. Timaru Handcap, 175 soys, one and a quarter .miles. Adjudge 1, Outlander 2, Cronstad't 3. Two others started. Won by half a length. Time — 2.8 1-5. President's Handicap, 100 soys, 7 furlongs. — 'Kilt s.l, Fasnakyle 2, Glenfield 3. . Two otheis ■••ij^ied." Won easily by two lengths, lime— l.2B. Hack Handicap, 50 soys, five furongs. — SMithsdale 1, Bolt from the Blue 2, Aranea 3. Seven other s started.
