• On the 'motion for committal of »the Education. Amendment Bill, Hon. Mr Jenkinson contended that the State, was throwing away thousands of pounds a. year on the .so-called technical ■education; which was not going to give the re-turn hoped for. He would I'i'ke to see Parliament take some steps to insure better results. . / Hon. Mr Austey did not consider a reasonable return wa s reaped for the expenditure on. 'the education system. Tke whole question, would, sooner or later, have to be reviewed, to ascertain whether night lines were being pursued. COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOLS. .
