WELLINGTON, Nov 22 On. the Hine Committee resuming this morning-, „

Sir Joseph Ward put in a return, showing that of thirty estates compulscrily acquired by 'the Government, the price paid was 5£1,127,642, whereas the owners .claimed £1,705,558, showing- a saving of £502,916.

J. ,F. Andrews, secretary Cabinet, gave evidence. .

This concluded the evidence, and the report will probably be presented to the House on Thursday. Altogether fifty-one witnesses were examined in the course of the investigation.
