Four entries or no event . 3. Competitors must appear in suitable clothing. 4. In sawing .events the names of ouch pair of competitors must . be given, t ther wise they will net bo handicapped. 5. All protests must be in writing and lodged wi:h ithe Secretary within ten minutes after this event, accompanied by a deposit of 10s, which sum may be forfeited if (the pro!|?s't is considered frivolous.. : 6. In the maiden events "Mai dim" wi'l be interpreted as one who has not w m an event of the kind prescribed. 7. "Tyro' means any competitor, who has nojt chopped at any previous carnival competition! The winner of tlie Tj'ro cannot start for tlie Maiden Chop. 8. All logs for sawing and chopping will be trimmed -to size and any com pe'ti'or caught tampering with- liis log prior to the word 'go' will be liable to be disqualified. 9. Th? programme may be altered oi amended, and in the event of unfavorable wea'her th,-? whole of the events may be postponed. 10. Any competitor shall, if demanded sign a declaration as to his- previous \kt formances and anyone refusing may be disqualified. 11.
