Reefton Hospital.

(Our Correspondent.) Minutes of meeting of trustees held at Stevenson's Hotel on Friday, 30- h September 1904, at 7p m. Pro ent, Messrs Cohen (chairman) Builer, Scantlebury, Bowater, Stevenson, and Irving. Minutes of lasb meeting read and nnfirmed. The following correspondence was received : — From H Nahr, Esq, Chairman Builer Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, asking for co-operation in urging upon Government necessity of erecting an Old Man's Home in some central locality, and suggesting a conference to discuss the matter. From Secretary Inangahua Miners' Union asking the trustees to meet a <l putation appointed by The Miners' In ion for the endeavouring to per■i.de the trustees to allow all persons v. o contribute the sum of five shillings in monthly subscriptions of ■ :u> shilling, or otherwise the privilege of voting for the election of trustees. from certificated Nurse Guffie askin 2 for a month's holiday annually. From the matron complaining of the (j antity and quality of the milk sapplied, and also drawing attention to the necessity for furnishing the new Messrs Blackadder (President), Absalom (Vice President), Duophy (Treasurer), and Betts (Secretary) the delegates from the Miners' Union stated that they had been instructed to ask if the Union can have represent tation on the Board, or voting power in respect to the election of trustees. Resolved that the County Solicitor ne asked if a person contributing a a month until five shillings has been paid is entitled to vote at the election of trustees. Carried, proposed by Mr Bowater seconded <*&tif Mr Butler, .that the Hokitikt, Greymouth and Westland Westport Hospital Boards be asked wl.at are the usual conditions of service in respect to uureea' holidays and supply of uni- . forms. Carried. Resolved that Mr Hampson the contractor be inf>rraed that the quantity and quality of milk supplied by him is not satisfactory and that; unless an immediate improvement tak<>s place the contract will be can* celled Pro .. .sed by Mr Bowater, seconded by Mr Irving, that the matter of attending to the requirements mentioned in the medical officers and matrons reparts be left in the hands of the visit* in? committee.
