The Duke of Clarence caught a cold at Count Gleichen's funeral and anbeequently went out Bhooting at Sandtingham. He wa9 too ill to be present at the dinner given to celebrate his birthday on January 8, and Bince has gradually become worse. There is intense excitement throughout the country at his serious condition. A large . crowd daily visit Marlboroogh House, and Mansion House to enquire after his health, while the city claba are thronged with members awaifc : ng the issue of the medical balletins. Medical opinion considers that the Duke passed a bad morning. The bulletin issued by the physicians is tentative, but the most favorable reading is given to it. The patient holds his own, but the attack, which iB severe, continues unabated. Much sympathy is expressed for the family of the Dake of Teck, who are preparing for the marriage. The illness of the Duke of Clarence has checked the arrival of wedding presents. (Received Januar/ 15, at 1 a m.) London, January 14. Only one of the lungs of the Duke of Clarence and Avondale is affected but : t is unknown whether the other one is touched. Great crowds, including many ladies, await medical bulletins from Marlborough House. The family have been at the Duke's bedside throughout the night. There is intense public solicitude and great sympathy Is Bhown by foreign courts and European capitals. Later. The Duke of Clarence died at 9 a m.
