A syndicate haß purchased the Kohinoor gold mine, Parked, for L9OOO. The Railway Commissioners of New South Wales recently issued a ukase forbidding tram or railways employes from smoking when in uniform, either going to or returning from their work. At this time (writes a correspondent of Notes and Queries) her Majesty's family circle numbers 50 living descendants, including sons and daughter*, grandsons and granddaughters, great-grandsons and great-granddaughters, besides whom she has fonr Bons-ln-law, four danghters-ln-Jaw, five grandsons-ln-law, one grand-danghters-in-law. The Queen has lost one son and one daughters, five grandsons, one granddaughter, ene great-grandson, and one son-in-law. If thece were living, her family circle would number 74. Ont of the average ba'f a million letters thst arrive daily in Berlin, 10,000 are insufficiently addressed, or are not addressed at all, some only bearing the names of t-:o addressee. Thirty- three post officials are kept constantly at work for 10 hours a day, aoiting and re-direct-ing theße letters.
