THE NEW MORMON SETTLEMENT

* Mr B. [C. Faarot, president of the Columbus, Lima, and Noith Western Railway, has completed contracts with Mr John W. Young, eldest son of the great Brigham Young, the Mormon prophet, whereby they are to share possession of 3,000,000 acres of land in Northern Mexico, granted to |Mr Faurot by the Mexican Government three yearß ago, on the stionlationthat a railway should be built from Deming, New Mexico, in Cashiiambompa Bayou, on the Pacific coast. Mr Young reporta that 10,000 people are ready to colonize this grant, and there is excellent reason for believing that they are all Mormons anxious to leave Utah. Since the Gentiles obtained practical control of Salt Lake City the Mormons have been quietly aeeking a new location. Mr Young, who is an extensive railroad contrsctor, hao recently completed a large Utah contract. A small colony of Mormons has already aettled on lands adjoining Mr Faurot's proposed colony, where they are free from the restrictions of tbe United States Government, and can practise and teach polygamy without hindrance.
