THE NORTH BEACH TRACK.
. ♦ (to the editor.) Sir, — I beg to call the attention of the Gounty Road Overseer to the almost impassable condition of the North Beach track in the vicinity of Mr Jos. Taylor's and Mr Webb's mining claims. The former has made a deep cutting across the road to carry away the tailings, while the latter has wiped the track out altogether, so to speak ; and no proper provision has been made in either case to repair the damages they have caused, thereby compelling horsemen, packers, and travel ens generally to make a circuit of Beveral hundred yards over loose shingle. If any ordinary miner had done this amount of mischief he would have been promptly called opon to make it good ; but the proprietors of the t«o dredging claims in question appear to do as they please with the county track, and I refer to it here in the hope that they will be directed not only to repair those portions of the track which they have destroyed, but also to keep them in proper order. In the event of the Road Overseer and the maintenance contractor failing in their duty in this reßpect we Bhall b<ing the matter before the council. —I am, &c. North Beach Resident.
