Later intelligence from Formosa slioavs that the report of the occupation of Tamsui by Admiral Lesseps is incorrect. The town is still in possession of the Chinese troops and the .French bombardment continues daily. The local forces are strongly entrenched in the neighborhood of Tamsui, and all efforts to dislodge them as yet have proved unavailing.
