At a meeting of the directors of the Eureka Company last night, the tender of Messrs Kincaid, M'Qiieen and 06, of Duriedin, wan accepted for supplying an engine with winding gear, all complete, ! and of sufficient power to . work an air compressor besides. The specifications to .> pro. vide for r an engine with :2in cylinders, 20 stroke engine, to be extended to drive a compressor boiler (muLtitubular) to s be rivetted together-on . the site. The contractors to supply and erect machinery on a site to be prepared by the company. The contractprs_price. is LBB5. Tbe direo'ora have also received advices from "Victoria to the effect that the air compressor and rock drills ordered for the company were? haing ■. placed on b >ard the St Kilda, which was to sail from Melbourne for Greymouth on the 9th inst. The , present contract for , a. section of the - incline tunnel will be finished next month, after which the further extension will be suspended until the end of January. Modern appliances will after that time accelerate the speed of extending the tunnel. . Another lease adjoining the Sir Garnet Wolaeley has been takln up in the new locality men tion ed yes terd ay. It appears : that gold bearing stone has now and again been found in the vioinity and the prospectors are Banguine of success, The sinking of the shaft in the Globe is being continued on good stone. No news in to-day from other parts of the Devil'a Creek. The memorandum of registration of the Gladstone Extended appears in this j morning's Times. The shareholders are principally local.
