It is reported from St. Petersburg that it is the Czar's intention after Easter to found a new chivalric order, which is to be called the "Order of the Imperial Crown." It is to rank between the orders of St. Vladimir and St. Anne, and it will be the first new order founded since 1782, when the order of St. Vladimir was called into being. An official report has been published relative to Central Asian Affairs. The report says that after the Turcomans had been punished for the robberies they had committed, tranquility was perfectly re-established on both banks of the Amu Daria, and a tribute was collected from the Jumuden, although with great difficulty. The Usbeken, on the left bank of Amu Daria, have since declared themselves most grateful to the T>v )ssianß who have liberated the Khivese ttire residing from the oppressions of the Jumuden.
