parative ratio of mortality. A glance at Dr Morice's report shonre that less than lO.per cent, has been that ratio, aud as 12 of the 109 total of admitted patients were chronic' cases, and long incurable imitates^ when he took chavg^, the Committee think the public will aspee with them ia saying that thq Institution has fully proved its usefulness and power to meet the demands made upon its medical skill aud care. lii addition, however, to the 109 admitted as indoor patients, there must be added 189 who have received {fjtfhe benefit of outdoor treatment during the" si* months ; and that such large numbers have;been cared for and' treated at the comparatively small sum, as shown by the Treasurer's sheet, shows that while nothing was neglected to combat disease, yet stiict economy of management required to be ond was exercised by those immediately in charge.
