TT7HEREAS . it is expedient to alter the W duties of Customs payable on the importation of goods, wares, ami merchandise into the Colony of New Zealand :— Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand, in' Parliament assembled, as follows : — " ' 1. The Short Title of this Act shall be the New Customs Duties Act, ISG4. 2. The duties of Customs chargeable upon goods, wares, and merchandise imported into the Colony of New Zealand, shall cease and determine from and after the Bth day of December, 1804. 3. From and after the Sth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, in lieu of such duties the following duties of Customs sliall be charged on alf goods, wares, and merchandise hereinafter specified, imported into the Colony of New Zealand, or cleared' from any warehouse for . home consumption, that is to say :— £ s. d. 1.
