Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : TUESDAY. JUNE 21. For Westport, per Star of the South, at 8.30 a.m.; late fee letters, at 8.40 a.m.; guard’s van, 9.5 a.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Hawea. at 1.40p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m, ; guard’s van, at 2.30 p.m. train. For Otago and Tasmania, per Arawata, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m.; guard's van, at 2.30 p.m. train. For Northern Ports and Australian Colonies, per ’A a katipu, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, at 4 35 p.m. : guard’s van, 5.25 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (specially addressed correspondence only), Continent of Europe, Point dc Galle, India, China, Japan, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &c. t per express train (to connect with s.s. Arawata), as follows: Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m. ; books and newspapers at 6 a.m ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22nd ; money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22nd. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Post-office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, June 22nd, SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
