Beautiful Star, Captain Pieterson, sailed for Dunedin, via Timaru, on Saturday, at 4.30 p.ra. The fine brigantine Ethel arrived in harbor on Friday, at 7.30 p.m., from Wangaroa. The captain reports that he left that port on Thursday, August sth, at 9 p.m. strong E.N.E. winds to East Cape, which was passed on the 9th lust; from thence strong S.W. winds, increasing to a gale ; made Godley light on Friday last at 1 a.m., and arrived as above. The Union Co’s s.s. Taupo arrived in harbor on Saturday, at 9.45 a.m., from Port Chalmers. She left that port at 4 p.m. on Friday last, experienced light airs and fine weather, arriving as above. Site brought 25 tons of cargo for this port, and sailed North at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Messrs Cuff and Graham have chartered the schooner Young Dick to load a cargo of timber at the Kalpara for this port. The Young Dick has only recently arrived at Wellington from Melbourne, with cargo for that port and Wanganui, After discharging cargo at the latter place she proceeds to the Kalpara. The barque M. A. Annlson proceeds to Newcastle on discharge of her coals tor another cargo for this port. The Flirt cleared and sailed from Auckland on Saturday with the following cargo:—so cases doors, 76 pkgs sashes, 7 bdls mouldings, 226 architraves, 7$ tons drain pipes, 50,000 feet white pine timber. The Martha, barque, cleared from Auckland lor Tonga, and the Lochnavar, barque, for Newcastle.
