BLUM’S POLITICAL TRIUMPH

Blum, had a notable victory at the Nationalist Socialist Congress, gaining a vote of confidence in the Government by 5642 to 702. . Another motion asking for immediate intervention on behalf of the Spanish Government was defeated by 4222votes to 902. A mass meeting of Communists, however, unanimously passed a motion to lift the embargo on assistance.
