In his oninion, tho British Crown represented, the sheet-anchor of civilisation and Iho safety zone ol the world. Tiio British Empire was the only country that held fast to human liberty, and to-day was a beacon to light Rio. rest of tlie world. It was a referee holding the scales of justice. The. task of holding fast to those marvellous traditions and principles that were so dear would rest .upon the shoulders of tho boys of to-day in a few short years.
