OF 1 CO3I3IERCFMil HA3HLTON IRVINE 25 YEARS IN OFFICE A unique ceremony in, Gisborne took place at. the monthly meeting of the Gisborne Chamber! of Commerce yesterday when members extended their felicitations to the lien, secretary. 3lr W. Hamilton Irvine, on the attainment of 25 years in office. The subject was introduced by 3lr L. T. Burnard who mentioned that on 3lay 19, 1911. 25 years ago. the:r secretary, Mr W. Hamilton Irvine, had first been appointed to the posiion w.liicli he had held with such honor and cyedit. ever since. He congratulated 3lr Irvinci on his lengthy period of service. (Applause).
• , The chairman (Mr It. W. J.. Edwards) said) that lie had not been a. member for 25 years. He thoroughly appreciated Mr Hamilton Irvine’s methodical care in, the preparation of the minutes, which he stated were all that could be desired. Mr T. Corson said that he well ;remembered the day, 25 years ago, when Mr Hamilton Irvine had been j elected secretary. Mr?
